The West Liberty Business Association is excited to announce the highly anticipated West Liberty Christmas Tour of Homes, set for Saturday, December 7, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Tickets are available for purchase in advance at The Town Hall, located at 201 N. Detroit St., West Liberty, OH, and through Eventbrite. Tickets can also be purchased at Town Hall or the Piatt Cabin Guesthouse during the tour. Please note that if you purchase on Eventbrite, you’ll still need to pick up your ticket at the Town Hall before heading to your first stop. Tickets are $20 per person.

This year’s tour will feature eight stops—six within the Village and two just outside of town—promising a festive evening of beautiful homes and holiday cheer.

The first stop on the tour is the Clark Home. Built in 1900, this home radiates warmth and charm with its farmhouse aesthetic. With 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, the home’s style creates a cozy atmosphere perfect for family gatherings. The inviting living room, open concept kitchen, and a charming side patio for outdoor entertaining, are among the highlights that make this home for the Clarks. The house is all about making memories—whether it’s celebrating Christmas, Thanksgiving, or hosting NFL and college football watch parties with loved ones. The home’s timeless appeal offers a perfect setting for their favorite traditions, year after year.

Next, visitors can enjoy the Wallace Home. This stunning 1890s home, featured on this year’s Christmas Tour of Homes, offers 4,000 square feet of historic charm and modern comfort. With an in-law suite for added convenience, it’s a perfect space for family and friends to gather. The homeowners' favorite spaces include the parlor and bright sunroom, both of which showcase the home’s original woodwork, adding character and warmth throughout. Friends describe the home as welcoming and comfortable, making it the ideal place for holiday gatherings. The homeowners love hosting family and friends, and during the holidays, their home becomes a hub for celebration and cherished memories. It’s the perfect blend of history, hospitality, and holiday spirit.

Tucked in the heart of the village, the Hudson Airbnb is a cozy 600 sq ft retreat featured on this year’s Christmas Tour of Homes. Its eclectic and inviting decor blends perfectly with the village's charm, offering guests a unique and comfortable place to stay. One of the standout features is the custom-designed kitchen island, crafted by owner Liz Hudson herself, which adds a personal touch to the space. Guests also love the Simon Kenton bike path-inspired decor, reflecting the area’s local history and outdoor spirit. Whether you're visiting for the holidays or a weekend getaway, the warmth and convenience of the Hudson Airbnb make it the perfect home base to explore everything the village has to offer.

The next stop includes the recently restored second-floor Opera House at Town Hall, located at 201 North Detroit Street. Head just south of Town Hall and visit The Peoples Savings & Loan Company West Liberty Branch, located at 110 N Detroit St. Founded in 1890 in West Liberty, the bank has been at this location since 1995. In 2023, they opened a new loan department in their expanded space. Originally built as a bank in 1895, the building recently revealed a stunning wall mural during remodeling, which predates the structure itself and has been beautifully restored. Other highlights include the gorgeous tin ceilings and the original vault.

Up next, and a few steps away you will find Elle A. Design, located at 101 and 105 South Detroit Street. Owned by creative director Lindsey McGlone, Elle A. Design specializes in print and web design, videography, and photography. The studio, with its welcoming and vibrant atmosphere, will open its doors to showcase the space where creativity thrives.
The building itself has a rich history, having housed various businesses over the years, including a butcher shop, a house of animation, a golf shop, and another butcher shop. Today, it boasts a striking mid-century modern vibe, making it the perfect backdrop for Lindsey and her team of four talented designers to bring their ideas to life.

Elle A. Design isn’t just a place of work; it’s a space filled with collaboration, energy, and creativity. The team loves sharing the space, creating memories together, and supporting each other as they continue to grow their business. During the Christmas tour, visitors will get a chance to see how this vibrant studio combines modern design with a rich local history—offering a glimpse into the heart of Elle A. Design and the magic that happens within its walls.

Head just outside the Village and you’ll find the charming Piatt Cabin Guesthouse. Visitors can step back in time at the historic Piatt Cabin, located adjacent to Piatt Castle, Mac-A-Cheek. Built in 1828, this charming cabin holds a rich history, preserving much of its original character despite a mid-1970s reconstruction. The renovation was done on the footprint of the original structure, maintaining its rustic, minimalist decor while enhancing its timeless appeal. Inside, you'll find cozy features like a welcoming fireplace and stunning artwork depicting the property and the local wildlife. Homeowner Margaret Piatt will be on hand to share fascinating stories about the Piatt family, starting with the original owners, Benjamin and Elizabeth Piatt. The Piatt Cabin offers a unique glimpse into the past, blending history with warmth, making it a must-see stop on the tour.

Finally, the Cave Home offers a unique and welcoming space just outside the village, with one of the best views in Champaign County. Nestled near the Mt. Tabor Church, the home’s location provides breathtaking panoramic vistas that are sure to leave a lasting impression. Described as a place of love and warmth, the Cave Home is built with an open concept, making it an ideal space for entertaining. For the Cave family, this design was crucial, especially with their extended family living so close by. The home is not only a beautiful retreat but a place where memories are made, and loved ones gather. It’s a true testament to the importance of family and connection.
