Mercy Health – Springfield Receives Greater Springfield Partnership’s 2026 Community Impact Award3/3/2026
significant positive impact through innovative services, strong partnerships, fiscal responsibility and long-term sustainability. Mercy Health joins a distinguished list of past recipients including United Way of Clark, Champaign, and Madison Counties; The Springfield Foundation; Junior Achievement - Mad River Region, Second Harvest Food Bank; Clark County Combined Health District; Springfield Promise; Turner Foundation; and Wilson Sheehan Foundation. We are proud to select Mercy Health for the Community Impact Award because of its strong commitment to Springfield’s most critical needs, from expanding local services to bridge healthcare gaps for at-risk patients to launching life-changing initiatives for all our residents,” said Mike McDorman, president and CEO of Greater Springfield Partnership. “This recognition represents more than just medical excellence; it honors a partner that consistently leverages its resources and expertise to build a healthier, more equitable future for every member of our community." Mercy Health has expanded access to care and strengthened support for residents across Clark and Champaign counties through its community paramedicine program, which provides in-home care, education and resource support for vulnerable patients. The opening of a new oncology and infusion center in Urbana in early 2025 allows many residents in Champaign County to receive cancer treatment close to home. Both projects were made possible through the generous support of the Mercy Health Foundation of Clark & Champaign Counties. Mercy Health has also invested in its workforce through homeownership assistance and education partnerships with Clark State College, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the health and stability of the communities it serves. “This recognition is incredibly meaningful because it represents a culmination of efforts that go back several years,” said Adam Groshans, market president for Mercy Health – Springfield. “From expanding access to oncology care close to home to launching programs that reach our most vulnerable patients where they live, this work reflects our deep commitment to the health of Clark and Champaign counties.” Looking ahead, Mercy Health continues to invest in expanded services across the region, including the addition of two new cardiovascular and cardiothoracic providers to meet growing demand for specialty services in 2026. These efforts build on Mercy Health’s broader commitment to ensuring residents receive high-quality care close to home. “All of this work would not be possible without our exceptional caregivers, clinicians, support teams and the many partners who stand alongside us,” Groshans said. “Together we are creating lasting change. We remain committed to serving our neighbors for many years to come.” About Mercy Health - Springfield
