Now in its fifth year, the Dash Bash is a ladies-only (21+) evening created in memory of Jillian Ripley, who lost her battle with osteosarcoma at the age of 14. Her legacy continues through the Jillian Ripley Endowment Fund, which was established to honor Jillian’s life and carry forward her dream of helping others. Guided by The Dash poem, the mission of the event is to encourage others to “live their dash” fully while raising funds for scholarships awarded to graduating seniors in Jillian’s honor and providing support for Champaign County children battling pediatric cancer.
This year’s theme is Nashville, chosen in celebration of what would have been Jillian’s 21st birthday. Doors open at 6 p.m., with dinner served at 7 p.m., followed by an evening of dancing, fellowship, and fundraising. Guests can look forward to auction items, raffles, fundraising games, and a cash bar, with auction announcements beginning at 9:30 p.m. The event concludes at 11 p.m. While formal attire is appreciated, organizers emphasize that the focus is on participation and community. Attendees are encouraged to dress in a way that feels fun, classy, and comfortable while enjoying a once-a-year night out for a meaningful cause.
