Champaign County Business Advisory Council Earns Prestigious Recognition

Congratulations to the Champaign County Business Advisory Council (BAC) for earning three out of four stars from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce for the second year in a row! This distinguished recognition highlights the ongoing collaboration between Champaign County businesses and schools to enhance career education and provide valuable career experiences for

students across the county.

With over 110 Business Advisory Councils throughout Ohio, only a select few received awards, making this a significant achievement for Champaign County. The BAC’s success reflects the dedication and hard work of numerous educators, business leaders, and community members who are committed to preparing students for future career opportunities.

​The continued excellence of the Champaign County BAC underscores the importance of strong partnerships between local businesses and educational institutions. By working together, these groups ensure that students gain hands-on experience and exposure to potential career paths, better equipping them for success after graduation.

Some examples of the work that has been done include the creation of an annual high school Career Expo, elementary Career Showcases, and middle school skilled trades challenges. Students are also now participating in internships and job shadow experiences throughout the county.
