Kids Winter Clothing Drive Launches to Support Local Children in Need

Champaign County Kids Winter Clothing Drive

As temperatures begin to drop, the Champaign County Young Professionals Chamber Committee is stepping up to ensure local children have the warm clothing they need this winter. The group has launched a Kids Winter Clothing Drive, benefiting children across Champaign County.

From November 10th through December 5th, community members are encouraged to donate new or gently used coats, hats, gloves, and scarves. All donations will be distributed to local children to help keep them safe and warm during the coldest months of the year.

Champaign County Community Christmas Accepting 2025 Applications November 10 & 13

As the holiday season approaches, Champaign County Community Christmas (CCCC) is once again preparing to help local families and senior citizens in need celebrate the spirit of giving.

Applications for the 2025 program will be accepted on Monday, November 10 and Thursday, November 13 at the Champaign County Community Center, 1512 S. US Highway 68, Urbana. Application times are 9:00–11:00 a.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. both days.

Food Pantry Offers Ways to Help People Losing Food Benefits

Mercy Health - Springfield is set to host the first-ever Own Your Game: Men’s Health Expo on November 12 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Courtyard Springfield Downtown. Former Ohio State football standout Maurice Clarett will deliver the keynote address.

The free event gives men of all ages the chance to take charge of their health with screenings, expert advice, and practical tools to stay smart and strong.

Spaghetti Dinner with Santa to Benefit Breast Friends Forever of Champaign County

The community is invited to enjoy a heartwarming evening of food, fun, and giving back at the Spaghetti Dinner with Santa, happening Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Urbana Masonic Center, 222 N. Main Street, Urbana.

This festive event, sponsored by the Urbana York Rite, is donation-only and includes a delicious spaghetti dinner, visits with Santa Claus, and silent auction items perfect for holiday gift-giving.

All proceeds from the evening will directly support Breast Friends Forever of Champaign County, a local organization dedicated to educating, empowering, and embracing people affected by breast cancer in both Champaign and Madison Counties.

West Liberty-Salem Hosts Veterans Breakfast

The West Liberty-Salem Leadership Council invites all veterans and current service members to a special Veterans Day Breakfast on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 8:00–9:30 a.m. at West Liberty-Salem School.

This annual event is a heartfelt opportunity to honor and show appreciation for the brave men and women who have served or are currently serving in our nation’s armed forces. The breakfast is also open to students and community members who have family currently serving or who have served, as we come together to celebrate and express our gratitude for their sacrifices and dedication.

Mercy Health – Urbana Hospital will host an indoor yard sale on Wednesday, November 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 904 Scioto Street, Urbana, Ohio

The sale will take place inside the hospital, with entry through the Outpatient Registration doors near the flagpole at the back of the building

Shoppers can browse a wide selection of office and outdoor items, including:

Patio sets and outdoor furniture
Desk chairs, bookcases, and filing cabinets
Artwork, display cases, and desk accessories

All purchased items must be taken the same day.
