 William's Hardware was started in 1972 by Owen Williams. Owen chose to start his business in Champaign County due to the vibrant economy and close-knit community. The store is now celebrating 50 years in business!
Doug Williams took over his father's business in 2012 and has remained the owner for the past ten years. Doug decided to keep the location of the business because of the community support and the personal and business relationships that have been built over the years. He has stated that he loves Urbana and would never leave the city. A lot has changed in the past 50 years. Doug Williams commented, "Retail space has gone up, consumers now have multiple choices, and business is more competitive". Changing with the times and keeping an open mind has helped the store continue to thrive. The business has always stayed pliable and open to new ideas.
The problem: Sunny Side Eggs wants to reach a new market with various size packs of eggs and their cartoning. You have been contracted to work with a team to develop and test a carton prototype. The challenge: Using the materials provided, your challenge is to design an egg carton prototype capable of protecting the enclosed eggs from any breakage under applied pressures such as crushing or dropping.  The schedule will run as follows:
Children will be grouped by ages and only compete against other students their age. Sign-ups will be held until Friday, May 13th at 4:30pm. Register by either calling 937-484-1526 or emailing [email protected]. It is FREE to participate and all supplies will be provided. Anyone can join; it is open to all of Champaign County. The younger age groups will be allowed to have one adult helper per group. Groups will be maxed at 4 participants, but can have as little as 2. Thursdays, May 5th and 19th from 2:30pm-3:30pm: Yoga, All Ages. Experience all the benefits that yoga can offer in this class for any experience level. Marissa Abraham will lead class! Classes are the 1st and 3rd Thursday @ 2:30 PM. Please bring your own mats! Yoga will be outside! Thursdays, May 5th and 12th from 4:30pm-5:45pm: Drawing with the Masters, All Ages. Come make a masterpiece with Lisa Ware! "Learning about perspective-near and far-through master artists. Come, learn and create using your own ideas!" Fridays, May 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th from 10am-11am: Roaming Readers Walking Club, Ages 18+. Need help starting a consistent fitness routine? Join the Roaming Readers Walking Club! The club will meet each Friday @ 10 AM. We will walk for 30 minutes around Mechanicsburg and discuss your latest or favorite books! Saturday, May 7th from 10:30am-12pm: Grab a Book and Read to a Goat, All Ages. Pick out a book and read to Tagalong the goat! This program is outside; if weather is not good the program will be held a different day. The day of the rescheduled program will be June 18 at Goshen Township Memorial Park.  Monday, May 9th from 3:30pm-4:30pm: Explorer’s Club, Ages 6 (Kindergarten)- 5th Grade. Ever wonder how policing in America got started? Let’s find out this May during National Police Month! Also, learn how to dust for fingerprints just like a real detective.

Tuesday, May 17th from 5:30pm-6:30pm: Ocean Theme Soap Making, Ages 18+. Come make smelling good soap that are ocean themed! Wednesday, May 18th from 3:45pm-4:45pm: Open Call for Racing Worms, Ages 2-18. Is your child too young to attend Mechanicsburg Public School? Is your child homeschooled? Are you curious as to What Is Worm Races? Stop by the library any time between 3:45-4:45 PM to see what all the fuss is about! Race a worm and learn the history of worm racing in Mechanicsburg! Thursday, May 19th from 11 am-12 pm: Ocean Theme Soap Making, Ages 18+. Come make smelling good soap that are ocean themed! Thursday, May 19th from 4pm-pm: Magic the Gathering, Ages 12+. Have you ever wanted to become a powerful wizard and control the elements of Earth? Well now is your chance! Learn how the game of Magic the Gathering operates, create your own deck, and battle opponents! Great for middle school through adult. Saturday, May 21st from 10am-12pm: Beginner Sign Language Class, All Ages. Come learn the basics of Sign Language! Becky will teach the class. Tuesday, May 24th from 4:30pm-6:30pm: Summer Reading Kick Off Party, All Ages. Come eat hotdogs, play board games, and outside games! Make sure to check out what programs we will be having for Summer Reading and win prizes! Monday, May 30th All Day: Library is closed in observance of Memorial Day.
“We created the #DadandMe contest as a way for children to show that responsible and invested fathers in Ohio are champions.”  The requirements for entry vary by age group:
All applications and creative entries must be postmarked by Saturday, April 30, and sent to Passages Connecting Fathers and Families, P.O. Box 91831, Cleveland, OH 44101-3831. Entries also can be hand-delivered to 4600 Carnegie Ave., Suite 1, Cleveland 44103-4371. “This contest is a celebration of fathers and the impact they have on our children and in our communities,” said ODJFS Director Matt Damschroder. “I encourage children of all ages to express through the visual and written arts what their father means to them.” A subcommittee will review all qualified entries. Approximately 40 creative entries for each age group will be selected to receive free admission to the inaugural Fatherhood Festival for up to four family members over Father’s Day weekend in June. In addition to projects, each class will be competing with their teachers. There will be a walk-a-thon going on all day to raise funds for the Red, White, & Cards day this summer. Teachers will be collecting coins and cash, and classes will get to walk the track if they meet their fundraising goal!  How to donate:
 Funds will be collected by the High School National Honor Society and donations will go to Triad Jr. Basketball to support the June 18th fireworks.
The event is one of two fundraisers that help support museum operations. Freshwater Farms of Ohio and the Historical Society are sponsoring this event.
Advance tickets are $20.00 each and available at the following locations: The Peoples Savings Bank, Park National Bank (Urbana), Farmers and Merchants Bank, Chamber of Commerce and at the museum.
