Triad Local School District Awarded the Ohio Career Technical Education Equipment Grant

The Triad Local School District has been selected for funding in the amount of $2,189,266.00 through the Ohio Career Technical Education Equipment Grant by the Department of Education and Workforce.

The District applied for this highly competitive grant in December of 2023, in hopes of expanding academic pathways in Allied Health, Precision Agriculture, Design and Development, and the establishment of an Information Technology academic pathway. The Grant will also allow the District to create a modern lecture space for students.

The District will work over the next several weeks to prepare for a building expansion project and will work with students to help make the classroom vision for these spaces a reality.

Triad would like to thank the collaborative work of their staff along with various community and business partners including WDC Group, Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, Chris Flowers (Business & School Liaison for Champaign County), Battelle/Ohio STEM Learning Network, Berry Digital Solutions, Data Path, Rittal, Nanofiber Solutions, Lanette Johnson with Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and the Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE).

Volunteers Sought for Kid Zone at Urbana’s Second Saturday Event

Urbana, OH – Shop Downtown Urbana is calling on community members to volunteer for the Kid Zone during the upcoming Second Saturday events. This initiative is aimed at creating a fun-filled atmosphere for families and children, featuring activities like face painting, balloon animals, cornhole, inflatables, and crafts.

Scheduled to run monthly throughout the year, these events are an opportunity for volunteers to engage with the community, provide a safe and welcoming environment for children, and assist in various capacities to ensure a successful experience for attendees.

Volunteers will not only contribute to the vibrancy of downtown Urbana but also enjoy the opportunity to meet new people, make friends, and potentially promote their businesses or organizations. With dates lined up from April to December, organizers are looking for individuals who can bring enthusiasm and a helping hand to downtown Urbana.

The evening promises to be a joyful tribute to Andy's life, filled with camaraderie, good food, and fond memories. Attendees are encouraged to contribute to the potluck-style Hog Roast. Please bring a covered dish, and rest assured that meat, utensils, and drinks will be provided.
