Position Overview:
The Fiscal Officer plays a vital role in maintaining the financial health and transparency of the Village, reporting directly to the Village Administrator. Responsibilities include overseeing financial records, managing payroll and tax reporting, preparing purchase orders and checks, maintaining personnel files, and supporting state audits. The position also serves as Clerk of Council, maintaining official records and attending all council meetings. Key Duties Include:
Minimum Qualifications:
The role requires strong attention to detail, an understanding of public sector accounting, and the ability to manage confidential and sensitive information. Knowledge of government grant programs, payroll procedures, and budgeting is essential.
