ODOT Hiring Full-Time Highway Maintenance Workers in Champaign County

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is seeking applicants for a Permanent Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW1) or Highway Technician 1 (HT1) in Champaign County. This full-time, first-shift position is based at the District 7 Garage in Urbana and plays a crucial role in maintaining Ohio’s roadways.

​Key Responsibilities:

• Perform highway maintenance, including pothole patching, guardrail repairs, mowing, and litter pickup

• Assist in snow and ice operations
• Operate various highway equipment
• Participate in CDL training if not already certified
