Madison-Champaign ESC Hiring Full-Time Custodian to Support Local Facilities

Madison-Champaign Educational Service Center is seeking a dependable and hardworking individual to join its team as a full-time Custodian, helping maintain clean, safe, and welcoming environments across multiple ESC facilities.

Based out of 2200 S. U.S. Highway 68 in Urbana, the position plays a key role in

supporting daily operations by ensuring buildings remain well-maintained for staff, students, and visitors.

The role operates on a 260-day contract and will primarily work first shift or a swing shift, depending on coverage needs. The custodian will assist at various ESC locations, supporting day custodial staff and helping meet the needs of each facility.

Responsibilities include routine cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas, as well as floor care such as sweeping, mopping, and waxing. The position also involves assisting with event setup and cleanup, handling deliveries, monitoring building conditions, and supporting seasonal tasks like snow removal.

Candidates should be comfortable performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, moving furniture and equipment, and working on ladders when needed. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.

Reliable transportation is required, as the position supports multiple ESC locations.
