Dietary Supervisor

Mercy Health is hiring a full-time Dietary Supervisor for their Urbana location!
This position leads the team in proper assembly and service of foods, sanitation and safety of service, and utility areas of department. They assure purchasing/receiving/handling, preparation, presentation and food safety compliance is adhered to. A Dietary Supervisor will also round with patients and customers to assure Mercy Health has delivered exemplary quality of products and services.

Qualifications:
  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Cooking: 1 year (Preferred)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Directs staff in all aspects of hot/cold food production and all tray assembly, serving and ware washing. Monitors production sheets and works with cooks to adjust forecasts as needed. Assists in training new staff and fills in positions within the kitchen as needed. Responsible for catering events.
  • Assists DFNS in overseeing work flow related to patient/resident/ customer services. Addresses issues with employees including corrective action and performance reviews as assigned.
  • Assures team is completing shift, day weekly cleaning of assigned areas or station.
  • Conducts routine department inspections to ensure department is maintaining cleanliness standards and implements measures to correct deficiencies. Assist in the care of all department equipment; notifies DFNS of all equipment problems; initiates and follows through on maintenance work orders.
  • Works with team to develop and keep current job flow, menus, and recipe changes. Works with director/ manager to develop employee schedules and ensure that we are adequately staff to volume. Fills in positions within the department for call offs or for training purposes.

Job Description
As a member of the Urbana team, you will have responsibility for installing, maintaining and repairing a broad range of mechanical systems and equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission systems. This position will provide assistance in operating functions as necessary to maintain continuous operations as well as repair or diagnose faulty equipment or machinery.

Responsibilities:
  • Installation, disassembly, repair and reassembly of equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, mechanical drives or other mechanical equipment/machinery.
  • Test, diagnose and repair malfunctioning machinery and communicate with Maintenance Department or Production Management.
  • Replace/repair faulty components of machine such as relays, printed circuit boards, switches, motors and adjusts mechanical parts as necessary.
  • Adjust, align, and calibrate equipment
  • Complete Preventative Maintenance activities as assigned.
  • Record appropriate equipment information concerning equipment repairs and performance through the work order system.
  • Inform facility leaders and other technicians of pertinent information and relay to other departments if necessary.
  • Maintain clean work environment and document housekeeping and 5S compliance.
  • Adhere to company safety regulations.
  • Other duties may be required or assigned.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Industrial Maintenance experience is required which may include Skilled Trades programs or Military.
  • Three to five years of mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Must be proficient in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, meters, calibrators, programmers and other tooling typical of mechanical service.
  • Physical requirements – lift and manipulate unwieldly parts weighing up to 100 lbs
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Ability to train others

  • Provides timely helpdesk assistance to users. This includes; phone coverage during business hours and participating in coverage for the off-hour helpdesk rotation.
  • Enhances knowledge of the systems, hardware and operating system(s) in use through on-the-job training, reading trade journals, self study courses and formal education.
  • Uses the proper techniques for analyzing, evaluating and resolving all hardware/software application problems using appropriate problem solving processes.
  • Effective in training required personnel in the use of system related technical skills.
  • Supports software/hardware inventory management and software licensing policy
  • Install/swap/upgrade/maintenance of PCs and Laptops
  • Provides testing and deployment of Windows updates and security patches on PCs and Laptops
  • Provides support for general software and hardware problems for desktops, laptops, fax, printer and copy machines

Job Requirements:
  • 3 years working experience with PCs and printers in a network environment.
  • Working knowledge in networking concepts and MS Active directory, certifications a plus.
  • Working technical knowledge of Microsoft operating systems.
  • Extensive application support experience, Microsoft Office, Exchange
  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills. Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to conduct research into network issues as required.
  • Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language.
  • Highly self motivated and directed.

Farm to School Educator

Champaign Family YMCA is looking for a Farm to School Educator for the USDA Farm to School Grant Program at Graham Local Schools.

General Duties:
  • Recruit students to participate in the Farm to School after school program.
  • Assist in the writing of the Farm to School curriculum to be used in the Farm to School program.
  • Implement the Farm to School curriculum through planned lessons delivered as part of the after school program at Graham Middle School and Graham Elementary School. These lessons will be a balance of application activities within the greenhouse and gardens and academic learning.
  • Develop a schedule in coordination with the Farm to School Coordinator that provides after-school student programming on average of 4 days per week. In addition, plan and support students in their occasional weekend activities related to the Farm to School curriculum.
  • Regularly provide photographic, video, and testimonial materials that highlight the Farm to School program for use on the Farm to School website.

Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma or equivalent and able to pass an FBI/BCI background check.
  • Gardening or agricultural experience strongly desired.

Hours:
The compensation will be $20/per hour for up to 16 hours a week. Anticipated time will be 1-5 M-Th. Summer hours will vary. The program will run from October 2021-August 2022. Schedule will be planned after hire.
